Bonum Terrae has chosen organic Giant beans (traditionally used in the "Plaki" recipe) from the Region of Grevena in North Greece. The are easily boiled and taste great! A traditional Greek plate, the elephant beans are a great source of proteins, vitamins and fibres. Beans are a perfect alternative with low fats and can substitute meat protein. This is the reason why they are a very good choice of Vegans or Vegeterians when combined with other foods. That is why they call them the meat of the poor.
