The organic extra virgin olive oil that Bonum Terrae offers is of excellent quality. It comes from the area of Messara in Crete (the largest plain in Crete that spans from Southern parts of Heraklion prefecture, below the Psiloritis mt), which makes the olive oil PDO (Protected Designation of Origin). Produced by olive trees from the Greek Koroneiki variety. Olive oil has a balanced taste and aromas and has a slight bitter aftertaste that lingers. Acidity is lower than 0.6% and has good values of K and ΔΚ. Due to xeric conditions prevailing in the area of Messara in South Crete, the content of unsaturated fatty acids is increased and the nutritional value of this extra virgin olive oil is high.
